It\u2019s fast, relatively low-cost, and great for bringing ideas to life early in the process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Need to check if your parts fit together? Want to hold your product in your hands before investing in tooling? That\u2019s where 3D printing shines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How we use 3D printing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use 3D printing mostly for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tkurpershoek.com\/design\/en\/how-its-made\/prototyping\/\">prototyping<\/a><\/strong>, but it can also be handy for small production runs or unique, custom-made parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With 3D printing, we can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Quickly test different versions of a design<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Make functional mockups (hinges, clips, moving parts)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Experiment with shapes, ergonomics, and form<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 Show your product to users, partners, or investors early on<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The right material for the job<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not all 3D prints are created equal. Depending on what we\u2019re making, we choose the right technique and material. Some prints are rough and ready for internal testing, others are polished and presentable for demos or photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We work with techniques like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tkurpershoek.com\/design\/en\/how-its-made\/3d-printing\/fdm-fused-deposition-modeling\/\">FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 affordable and great for quick tests<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tkurpershoek.com\/design\/en\/how-its-made\/3d-printing\/sla-stereolithography\/\">SLA (Stereolithography)<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 high-detail prints, good for visual models<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2022 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tkurpershoek.com\/design\/en\/how-its-made\/3d-printing\/sls-selective-laser-sintering\/\">SLS (Selective Laser Sintering)<\/a><\/strong> \u2013 strong, functional parts for working prototypes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If needed, we can finish your prints with sanding, painting, or coatings \u2014 whatever\u2019s needed to get the look and feel just right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3D printing lets us move fast, learn quickly, and keep your project moving forward without blowing the budget.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>3D printing is one of our go-to tools when developing new products.
